LINCOLN — Nebraska women’s basketball coach Amy Williams got a raise and an extra year on her contract, The World-Herald confirmed Thursday.
Williams’ base salary rises to $626,750 on July 1 following an NCAA tournament season. NU gave her a one-year extension, too, leaving the length of her contract at five years. She signed the extension Monday. The contract now runs through the 2023 season.
The Huskers finished 21-11 in Williams’ second year after the first ended at 7-22 — the worst record in school history. Williams won Big Ten coach of the year for her performance last season. Nebraska’s 2018 recruiting class — built off of that 7-22 season — was rated one of the nation’s 20 best by ESPN.
Williams still makes less than former Husker coach Connie Yori, who had a base salary of $732,913 in her final year.
