KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2018 NAIA Competitive Cheer & Dance (CCD) All-America teams. To achieve NAIA All-America or Honorable Mention status, student-athletes participate in a try-out. Officials judge the athletes during the try-out and All-Americans are determined by the judges’ scores. The CCD Coaches Association officers then confirm the list of scores and athletes.
Midland University was well represented on the two teams as three Warriors were named to the cheer teams and ten were named to the dance teams.
Hakim Sims, was named an All-American in cheer while teammates Derrick Hobbs and Jaclyn Schake were named honorable mentions.
In dance, Logan Deahn, Marlando Sparks, Kassie Kent and Genevieve Kroese were named to the All-America team. Six others; Kaylee Meyer, Mikenah Rieken, Ty Hecker, Rochelle Olson, Julianne Lewis, and Christina Remijio; were selected as honorable mentions.

Midland’s Cheer and Dance teams will both compete in the NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Championship this weekend, March 9-10, in Oklahoma City.
