OMAHA – A large portion of the News Channel Nebraska coverage area is in a freeze warning or frost advisory Tuesday night, into the late morning hours on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service says sub-freezing temperatures are highly likely for most of the eastern portion of the state. The conditions will kill crops and other vegetation that is sensitive to cold temperatures says the NWS.
The freeze warning is in effect from 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wednesday and will affect the following counties:
Knox-Cedar-Thurston-Antelope-Pierce-Wayne-Boone-Madison-Stanton- Cuming-Burt-Platte-Colfax-Dodge-Butler-Saunders-Seward-Lancaster- Saline-Jefferson-Gage-Phillips-Smith-Jewell-Rooks-Osborne-Mitchell-Valley-Greeley-Nance-Sherman-Howard-Merrick-Polk-Dawson-Buffalo-Hall-Hamilton-York- Gosper-Phelps-Kearney-Adams-Clay-Fillmore-Furnas-Harlan-Franklin- Webster-Nuckolls-Thayer-Republic-Washington-Cloud-Clay-Ottawa
The frost advisory is in affect during the same time period for Cass, Otoe, Johnson and Pawnee Counties.
