Memories of 911 still very vivid

You will notice flags are at half staff today to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of 9-11.  Many of us have very vivid memories of that day. Washington County resident and American Legion Post Commander Carl Lorenzen is among them.  In an interview today, Carl says he and his crew were grounded for a time, but when some flights were allowed,  he was required to make sure all his crew were actually company employees.   He was able to finally get to his daughter’s wedding that weekend in Des Moines.  Shortly after 911 he piloted a flight into New York – Carl says seeing the twin spotlights marking the spot where the towers had been was eerie.  If you would like to share your recollections and thoughts about 9-11, please feel free to do so on Real Country 97.3 ‘s facebook page
