Metro Area Rated #1 Nationally in Growth for Areas with 200K to 1 Million

BLAIR – A prestigious national award bestowed today on the  Omaha Chamber of Commerce.  Site Selection Magazine has chosen the metro area as #1 for new and expanded corporate facilities among areas with populations between 200,000 and one million residents. Present for the honor today were Nebraska Governor Pete Rickets, Council Bluffs mayor Matt Walsh, Omaha Mayor Jean Stothart, and among several other dignitaries,  David Brown, the president and CEO of the Omaha Chamber.  David says the Greater Omaha Chamber Economic Development Partnership involves six counties: Cass; Dodge; Douglas; Pottawattamie; Sarpy and Washington Counties –  and two states – Nebraska and Iowa.  Among the high growth projects for the area are Facebook in Papillion, Costco Poultry Processing in Fremont, Veramaris and Evolva in Blair, the West Broadway Redevelopment and Rivers Edge in Council Bluffs.
