Update on Rescued Man who Wandered from a Nursing Home Earlier This Week

BLAIR – Earlier this week a former Blair resident wandered away from a Tekamah nursing home and was missing over night during thunderstorms.  Volunteers combed the area near the home a number of times after Rolland Metz disappeared from the facility Monday morning, Overnight storms and several searches later,  Omaha Police Department’s helicopter was called to provide mutual aid and Rollie Metz was found the next evening.  His daughter, Sheryl Metz says her dad had gone 30 hours without medication, food or water and was cold, dehydrated and wet. Rollie was taken to the Blair hospital for initial observation and then transferred to an Omaha hospital. How is Rollie doing now?  Sheryl says her dad is alert, talking and eating and is doing remarkably well, adding that she and her family   are so thankful to the volunteers, first responders and law enforcement agencies that helped with the search and his rescue
