Wayne State’s Neihardt Hall Briefly Locked Down

WAYNE – A building on campus was placed on lockdown briefly Friday after a report of a man with a weapon.

Wayne Police say that they received a call at 7:15 p.m. Friday about a disturbance in which a man had a weapon outside Neihardt Residence Hall. Police didn’t specify the weapon, nor did they identify the suspect, except to say he wasn’t a student.

Neihardt was placed on lockdown while officers responded and arrested the man. They have not said whether or not he’s been charged.

The lockdown at Neihardt was lifted shortly after it began after officers determined there was active threat to the area.
