Husker Sports: Soccer Semifinals, Winter Sports Heating Up


The Nebraska basketball team gets its final dress rehearsal for the 2018-19 season on Thursday evening, as the Huskers host Wayne State for an exhibition game at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:01 p.m.


Fresh off a thrilling quarterfinal match, the Nebraska soccer team (9-6-5, 5-3-3 Big Ten) continues the Big Ten Tournament this weekend against Minnesota (10-8-1, 5-5-1 Big Ten) at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.

The sixth-seeded Huskers and seventh-seeded Golden Gophers square off in the semifinal round on Friday, starting at 12:30 p.m. (CT).


The Nebraska wrestling team will hold Wrestle-Offs in conjunction with the annual Fall Coaches Clinic on Thursday, Nov. 1 inside the Hendricks Training Complex. The Wrestle-Offs begin at 6 p.m. and the Huskers will be contesting 11 bouts, with the winners earning starting spots to begin the 2018-19 season.

This event is free of charge and will be held in the wrestling room upstairs at Hendricks. Along with the permanent bleacher seating in the room, additional seating will be provided for spectators.

Nebraska opens its season at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open on Sunday, Nov. 4, before beginning the dual season at home against Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m.
