FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University dropped their home opener on Friday night to (RV) Aquinas College, 17-8. The Saints jumped out to an 8-0 lead before the Warriors battled back just before the break to make it 9-4 at the intermission. Aquinas though kept Midland at arm’s length as they won their season opener. Midland falls to 0-3 on the season now.
Leading the way offensively for the Lady Warriors were Jada Jordan and Riley Yanek, who both two goals in the game. Kiana Reedy, Megan Collins, Masey Jay, and Ashley Hopkins all chipped in one goal as well.
Reedy led the team with six ground balls while Jordan came away with five draw controls.
Lauren Sanford was the key player for the Saints attack. She had 10 goals on the night and won 8 draw controls.
Tessa Singleton suffered the loss for Midland, allowing 17 goals while saving 10 shots on goal.
Up next for Midland is a road contest at University of Saint Mary (1-2). The KCAC foes will square off in Leavenworth, Kansas at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10.
