The Omaha softball team fell 6-0 to Missouri on Wednesday afternoon at the Mizzou Softball Stadium. The Mavericks are now 14-26 on the season, while the Tigers improved to 22-21.
Missouri’s Sydney Rice (8-12) pitched a complete game one-hitter with a walk and four strikeouts. The loss went to Sydney Hampton (9-11), who went 2.0 innings in her start and allowed three runs on four hits and one walk. Reliever Aubrey Hacke pitched the final 4.0 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with two strikeouts.
Rylee Pierce went 3-for-3 with three RBI to lead Missouri. Kolby Romaine went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Hacke went 1-for-3 for Omaha.
The Mavericks are back in action on Wednesday, April 19 when they visit Creighton. First pitch at Nygaard Field is scheduled for 6 p.m.
