WAUWATOSA, Wis. –Midland University’s men’s and women’s bowling teams opened up their 2018-19 season this past weekend at the 48th Annual Midwest Collegiate Championships. Both teams posted strong teams results in the season’s first event. The women’s team placed 6th out of 32 teams while the men’s team finished in 7th out of 40 teams in the team championship events. Lindenwood University won the women’s tournament, and McKendree University took home the men’s title.
On the women’s side, the highest scoring Warrior during individual play was junior Candice Goldfinch in 13th place. Goldfinch had a 194 average in six individual games, with a high of 222 in game two. Sophomore Brittney Schnicke also had a good outing, finishing in a tie for 35th place out of over 200 bowlers.
Midland’s highest individual men’s individual was senior Zach Karr in 19th place. Karr averaged a 219.5 over six games with his high game of 258 coming in his opening game. Junior Morgan Moore finished in 28th, averaging 214.8.
The Warriors’ next event is the Sandhills Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska. The two-day event is hosted by Midland University and will take place this coming weekend on October 13 and 14.
