Columbus 2 – CAROLINA 1 (OT)… Sonny Milano scored his second goal of the game off a breakaway with 17 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Blue Jackets over the Hurricanes. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 37 shots at goal.

 

St. Louis 3 – N.Y. RANGERS 1… The Blues downed the Rangers to run their record to 4-0 on the season. Jaden Schwartz had a goal and an assist. Goalie Carter Hutton made 16 of his 32 saves in the third period.

 

Chicago 3 – MONTREAL 1… Alex DeBrincat scored his first NHL goal and had an assist as the Blackhawks downed the Canadiens. Goalie Corey Crawford made 41 saves.

 

NASHVILLE 6 – Philadelphia 5… The Predators jumped out to a 3-0 second-period lead, then gave up five unanswered goals before scoring three straight times in the third period to finally put away the Flyers. Filip Forsberg sparked the rally when he found the net early in the period, then added the game-winner off a power play with 36 seconds remaining. The winning goal came just 41 seconds after Scott Hartnell netted the tying goal, also off a power play. Hartnell also had a second period goal. P.K. Subban assisted on three goals for Nashville.

 

DALLAS 4 – Detroit 2… Mattias Janmark and John Klingberg each had a goal and an assist as the Stars held off the Red Wings. Martin Hanzal capped the scoring with an empty-netter.

 

Ottawa 3 – VANCOUVER 2 (SO)… Mark Stone scored the winning goal in the fifth round of the shootout to send the Senators past the Canucks. Cody Deci and Ryan Dzingel scored in regulation for Ottawa.

 

VEGAS 5 – Arizona 2… James Neal scored twice during a four-goal first period and the Golden Knights coasted past the Coyote to make it three straight wins at the franchise’s outset. Brendan Lelpsic assisted on two goals.
