JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Midland University dropped both games at University of Jamestown over the weekend up in North Dakota. The Jimmies built multiple goals leads over the Warriors in the first two periods of each game and Midland couldn’t recover on the road. Midland falls to 16-15-0-1 on the season with the losses while Jamestown earns the season sweep and improves to 20-11-0-1.
In the first game, a 7-2 win for the Jimmies, they got out to 4-0 lead after two periods before Midland tried to mount a comeback. Kevin Finley and Cy Jenson both scored in the third period to cut the lead in half before for the Warriors. Jamestown would respond with three though over the final eight minutes though to seal the victory.
On Sunday, Jamestown once again jumped out to 4-0 lead before Midland could get things going offensively. Matthew Blaszkiewicz would get the Warriors on the board just before the second intermission but that was they could muster in the 6-1 loss.
Midland will head out west for their final true road-trip of the season this week. They’ll take on the No. 12 University of Nevada-Las Vegas on Friday and Saturday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. local time in Las Vegas.
