Vanessa Bouvet fired a two-under-par 70 to tie for second-place at the rain-shortened Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Wednesday.
Bouvet, a freshman from Brunei, finished in a four-way tie for second just one shot back of individual medalist Hannah Alberto from Sam Houston State, who shot a 69 in the tournament’s only round. The tournament’s first and second rounds were canceled on Tuesday.
Junior Kate Smith (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) carded a one-under-par 71 over 18 holes to produce her second straight top-10 finish to close the fall after tying for eighth at the UNLV Collegiate Showdown (Oct. 21-23). Smith, who opened the fall with a sixth-place finish at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, led the Huskers with a trio of top-10 finishes in five fall tournaments.
Nebraska will return to action for the spring portion of its schedule beginning with the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 10-12).
