Coach Kerry McDermott announced the signing of three talented student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the Nebraska men’s tennis team in 2018.
The three 2018-19 newcomers include a pair of in-state players led by five-star blue chip recruit Mason Meier from Elkhorn South High School and four-star recruit William Gleason out Lincoln Southwest High School. The three-member class adds an international player with Victor Moreno Lozano from Madrid, Spain.
Meier is ranked No. 25 nationally in Boys 18 and Under Singles. He is a 2017 University of Nebraska ITA Singles champion, a three-time Nebraska High School Boys Class B Singles champion, and owns multiple Sectional Singles and Doubles titles since the age of 12.
Gleason is ranked No. 138 nationally in Boys 18 and Under Singles and climbed as high as No. 76 in the 16 and Under Singles in 2016. He is a three-time Nebraska High School Boys Class A Singles champion, and he recently won the Boys 18 and Under Doubles title playing alongside future Meier in Topeka, Kansas. Gleason chose Nebraska over Cal Poly, Oregon and Omaha.
