FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University is proud to announce that their men’s ice hockey team will be switching division for the 2018-19 season. After playing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 since the program’s inception in 2014, they will be moving to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division within the ACHA. “With the majority of our 31 sports under the governance of the NAIA this was the next step in the evolution of our men’s program here at Midland,” stated Dave Gillespie, Midland University Athletic Director. “We look forward to the growth of the division and the continued growth of college hockey.”
Teams in the NAIA Division will play a 28 game regular season that culminates with the NAIA Division National Championship in March.
